Welcome to QMA
Queensland Masters Athletics Association (QMA) promotes fitness, fun and friendship through a range of athletic activities for everyone, from beginner to age group elite standard. Membership starts from 30 years through to 100+.
Competition is conducted in 5 year age divisions, .e.g. M40-44, W55-59. The association currently has around 400 members from all walks of life, all levels of ability and all parts of Queensland and northern New South Wales.
The Track and Field competition in Southern Queensland is usually conducted from October through to March/April. The Summer Track and Field Program leads up to the State Championships usually held in March and the National Championships which are usually held over the Easter long weekend with the host state changing each year on a rotational basis.

LET’S CELEBRATE! QMA 50th Anniversary
2023 marks the 50th year of Queensland Masters Athletics Association (originally known as ‘Queensland Veterans Athletics Club’).
Planning is underway for some special events to celebrate this milestone: a special competition day, a celebratory lunch or dinner, and an edition of the QMA magazine.
We are currently seeking
• A few more members to join the planning committee
• Any contacts or ideas you have for possible sponsorship
• Photos and stories from the past for the magazine.
A planning meeting is scheduled for Saturday 3rd June at 9.30am in the QMA clubhouse at the State Athletics Facility at Nathan. We encourage members to come along and help plan this celebration of our great club. Expressions of interest, contributions and ideas should be directed to the QMA 50th Anniversary convenor, Lorraine Birtwell.
