Who we are
QMA is the Queensland state association of Australian Masters Athletics (AMA) and World Masters Athletics (WMA). association.
We are not a retirement sport. We are adult athletics. Our members include first-timers who have never competed, current and former state, national and world champions, and everyone in between. The common thread is a commitment to competing at your best and improving year on year.
What we do
QMA runs more than thirty competition meets per year at venues across South-East Queensland, plus events in North Queensland. Our calendar covers track events from 60m to 10,000m, all field events including jumps and throws, and out of stadia events including road running, walks and cross country.
- Run sanctioned track, field, and cross country competitions across the season
- Maintain Queensland masters records in all events and all age groups
- Connect members with coaching, training groups, and competition opportunities
- Support members competing at national championships (Australian Masters Athletics) and world championships (World Masters Athletics)
- Administer membership and results for the Queensland masters athletics community

Governance
QMA is governed by a volunteer management committee, elected annually at the AGM. The committee includes President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and General Members. All financial members are eligible to vote and stand for election.
